almost done!

I know nobody reads this but I want to announce that I am almost done with my graduate program in gerontology!! And, I have a job as a case manager at a senior center. I'm excited to be at a job where I will be learning everyday and feeling accomplishment.

On another note, I was thinking that I should make this blog a space to talk about health and finances. That way, I can stay accountable for keeping on track and admit when I fall off of the bandwagon.
Finances: Today, I made a smart purchase of a cardigan from Crossroads (a second-hand clothing store). This was a necessary item to buy to wear at a wedding on Saturday. It was only $15, which is less than I would have spent if I bought it new. Confession: I did buy something else there (a cute dress for $15) that was not needed...
Health (excercise): This week, I worked out on Monday for 1 hour. Minkz's trainer Ed (who is an interesting character) spotted me and made me work extra hard on the weight machines. I plan to go to the gym for an hour again tonight.
Health (food): Confession: We sort of pigged out last night at Sumiya, a Japanese yakitori place. Next time, we will eat less by sharing skewers (instead of getting one skewer each). This will help finances too, by keeping the bill under control!

Just thought I'd let you know I had read your post since you said no one reads! I just clicked on the "just updated" blogs that scroll through on the blogger site and found yours. I'm a stay at home mom in wisconsin and I'm proud of your efforts to eat right and exercise and your new job. It helps to be accountable...even if it's only to your blog, huh? have a good one!
